FUEL Your ATHLETE

As a Mom of Athletes and a Pediatrician I understand the battle. I deal with it at home and hear about it all day…. What can I feed these kids. Especially the Athletes and then lets top it off with “picky eater” Athletes.

My goal is to make your life easier. I learned along this journey a few simple things: REAL food is best, Supplements are helpful and its ok to get it wrong sometimes. Trial and Error for what works for your family and what will actually make it into your child.

  1. Start with what they like- flavors, textures, time frame and available time in the day

  2. Outline of what they need as it pertains to their specific sport (because needs change) and work with this. Reviewed in this video

  3. Keep it as simple as possible. Don’t change everything at once, but make small changes in the right direction.

Take what you need and work on the rest.

FUEL really matters for everyone (especially our Athletes) - the nutrients in the foods matter, the time of consumption matters to prepare for practice, games and for recovery and muscle build. In addition I will briefly add that nutrition helps support our Mental Health, prevents Heart Disease and Cancer. It is worth the energy to find the best real clean FUEL for your child and your family.
