Practice Safe Sun

  • Seek shade when outdoors

  • Wear sun-protective clothing

  • Use sunscreen SPF 30 or higher, reapply every 2 hours after sweating or swimming

Skin Cancer Awareness

Melanoma can develop anywhere on the skin, including under nails. It is highly treatable if caught early.

Examine your skin for ABCDEs of Melanoma

  • A is for Asymmetry: 1 side of the spot does not look like the other side

  • B is for Border: The borders of the spot are irregular

  • C is for Color: The spot has different colors

  • D is for Diameter: Usually >6mm (size of a pencil eraser) but can be any size

  • E is for Evolving: The spot is changing over time
