Take a few minutes at the end of the week to think back on what you noticed, practiced, and experienced. Use these questions to reflect on what worked, what felt challenging, and what you might carry forward into the week ahead.
Reflection Questions
What was one feeling you didn’t expect to name out loud this week?
Did noticing where a feeling showed up in your body change how you responded to it?
Was there a moment this week where being validated, instead of corrected, changed how a conversation went?
Was there a moment this week where “Rose and Thorn” opened up a conversation that might not have happened otherwise?
You didn’t just fill out a chart this week, you built a habit that most adults never learned growing up: naming what’s happening inside instead of pushing it down or acting it out. That’s not small. Every family that practices this is quietly rewriting what emotional safety looks like for the next generation. However this week went – imperfectly, inconsistently, or exactly as planned – you showed up for it, and that’s what counts.
Remember:
Feelings aren’t something to manage away. They’re something to understand, and validate, together. This week was step one.
As you move into the next week, give these small moments of noticing and understanding time to become a natural part of your family’s everyday life.
